§ Mr. E. BrownThe total number of insured persons classified as belonging to the cotton industry are ascertained for one date only in each year, namely, the beginning of July. The estimated number of insured persons, aged 14–64, in the cotton industry in Great Britain at July, 1937, was 432,560. The numbers of such persons recorded as unemployed at 4th April, 1938, and at 18th October, 1937, were 102,626 and 43,137 respectively.
