HC Deb 04 July 1938 vol 338 cc46-7W
Mr. Kelly

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty whether wages of industrial employes in Malta are based on a cost-of-living scale; if so, will he give particulars of such scale?

Mr. Cooper

The wages of locally entered industrial employés in His Majesty's Dockyard, Malta, consist of a basic element plus bonus. The bonus has been assessed in the light of conditions prevailing generally at Malta, and not entirely on cost of living. The scales of bonus are as follow:

Weekly basic wages. Bonus.

Above 24s. and up to 27s. 11 0
