§ Mr. R. Gibsonasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if, and when, the Government will take steps to admit women to the old age pensions scheme on the same terms as men?
§ Sir K. WoodI have been asked to reply. I understand that the question relates to the different income limits for men and women laid down in the Contributory Pensions (Voluntary Contributors) Act, 1937, and I would remind the hon. Member that the matter was fully discussed when the Bill was recently before Parliament and I cannot see my way to reopen the matter.
