asked the Minister of Transport whether he can state the grants made in 1937 for the construction of roads in Worcestershire?

Yes, Sir. In 1937, grants amounting to £217,619 were made to the County of Worcestershire and £42,588 to the County Boroughs of Dudley and Worcester for new roads and bridges and major improvements to existing roads and bridges. In addition, grants amounting to £116,858 were made to the county council for minor improvement and maintenance of Class I and Class II roads and bridges.
