§ Lieut.-Colonel MuirheadAt armament training camps such as Evanton the provision of hangar accommodation is limited in order that squadrons sent to the camps for exercise in the practical use of their armament, may at the same time, gain experience of operating and maintaining their aircraft in the open in conditions similar to those likely to be encountered in war. In the case referred to, the gales, of which due warning had been received, proved so exceptionally severe that despite all possible precautions two aircraft were damaged beyond repair and six others badly damaged.
