HC Deb 21 December 1938 vol 342 c2915W
Mr. Pilkington

asked the Secretary of State for Air whether the shadow aircraft firms are paid on a basis of the number of men employed or of hours worked; or, alternatively, on what basis they are paid?

Sir K. Wood

The firms managing the shadow aircraft factories are repaid all costs properly incurred by them in the production of aircraft and they receive management fees calculated at the rate of £225 or £200 per aircraft according to type. Provision is also made whereby a percentage of any savings in manufacturing costs below a figure to be determined after a period of initial working should accrue to the firms concerned.
