HC Deb 21 December 1938 vol 342 c2898W
Mr. Craven-Ellis

asked the Under-Secretary of State for India whether it is intended that the bridges in Burma from railhead to the Chinese head of the Burma-Yunnan road are to be strengthened so as to carry 10 tons, and whether this work is now being carried out?

Colonel Llewellin

My Noble Friend is informed that all the bridges on the Burma side of the Burma-Yunnan road are already able to carry loads up to the loaded weight of the lorries which it is understood that the Chinese authorities at present propose to use.
