§ Mr. BurginThe rights and duties of pedestrians at controlled crossing places are clearly set out on pages 11 and 23 of the Highway Code of which over 20 million copies have been distributed. I am not aware that pedestrians generally are unacquainted with them. The marking of such crossings indicates the proper place for pedestrians to cross, to the advantage of both pedestrians and drivers. I regret, therefore, that I do not see my way to adopt my hon. Friend's suggestion.
