§ Mr. Crowderasked the Home Secretary whether his attention has been called to the increase during recent years in the 2220W number of theatres in the London area which, through operating a club system, with a membership fee often as low as is., are able to evade censorship and other obligations of theatres; and whether any steps are taken by his Department to investigate the types of entertainment provided at these places and to ensure that they are conducted in a proper manner?
§ Mr. LloydMy right hon. Friend has no reason to think that there has been any noteworthy increase in the number of these theatres. Any complaint in respect of any such theatre is investigated.
