HC Deb 14 April 1938 vol 334 cc1335-6W
Sir J. Jarvis

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether, in considering our trade relations with Russia, he will insist on a greater proportion of mutual trade than at present being carried in British ships?

Captain Wallace

As the hon. Member for Bradford, East (Mr. Hepworth) was informed on the 8th February, the whole question of commercial relations between this country and the Soviet Union is receiving careful consideration. The employment of British ships in the trade with the Soviet Union is an important aspect of the general question.
