§ Mr. Leachasked the Minister of Health whether he is aware that disappointing results have followed the recent use of measles serum in London County Council hospitals; and whether he will have a strict investigation made of the claims made for the various serums in use, in view of recent criticism of a medical officer of health in regard to the employment of measles serum?

WoodIn the special reports published by the London County Council on the epidemics of 1931–32 and 1933–34 it was stated that both convalescent and adult measles serum have proved of great value. The report on the epidemic of 1935–36 has not yet been published, but I am informed that there is no diminution of confidence on the part of this authority in the value of the serum. In these circumstances there would not appear to be grounds for a special investigation.
