§ Earl WintertonYes, Sir, I received a report of the occurrence. As the circumstances are at present being investigated it would be premature for me to make a statement. As regards the last part of the question, Air Ministry Orders already provide that a Court of Inquiry is to be held into any case where a bomb is dropped outside the authorised bombing areas, with a view to preventing a similar occurrence in the future. I should add that the bombs in question were of the practice type; live bombs containing explosive are only used at ranges not less than two miles out to sea.
