asked the Minister of Transport whether he can give the profits of all electricity undertakings in Great Britain for the years 1935 and 1936?

Following is the information:

The figures for the gross surplus of authorised electricity undertakings (public authority and company undertakings) in Great Britain and for the appropriation thereof in the year 1935–36 are as follows:

Gross surplus 38,970,107
Appropriation of gross surplus:
(i) Interest and dividends 15,813,712
(ii) Depreciation, etc., funds, debt redemption and other purposes, including balances 23,156,395

The figures for the year 1936–37 are not yet available.
