Mr. Sorensen

asked the Minister of Labour how many men, women, boys and girls, respectively, are registered at the Leyton Employment Exchange as unemployed in the borough of Leyton; and how many of these have been unemployed for three months and for six months and more?

At 18th October, 1937, 3,559 men and 595 women, aged 18 and over, and 21 boys and 26 girls, aged 14–17, were registered as unemployed at the Leyton Employment Exchange.

The following Table shows for the persons included in the above figures who were applying for insurance benefit or unemployment allowances, the numbers of those who had been continuously unemployed for three months but less than six months and for six months or more:
