§ Mr. R. Gibsonasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies how many Arabs are now in prison at concentration camps in Palestine; and how many of these have been tried and found guilty of crimes?
§ Mr. Ormsby-GoreAt the beginning of November there were 520 persons detained under the Emergency Regulations, of whom 360 were in the concentration camp 1065W at Acre, and the remainder in gaols or lock-ups throughout the country. I am unable to state how many of these persons were Arabs. As these are cases of preventive detention, no question of trial or conviction arises.
