§ Sir S. HoareA petition written by Miss Counter on 27th October was despatched from Exeter Prison on the following day and was duly received in the Home Office, but she was released before a reply could be sent to it. The petition contained a number of complaints about matters not within my purview and also a complaint that the Governor had refused her facilities to make an application to the High Court. This complaint was investigated and found to be baseless.
