Mr. McGovern

asked the Lord Advocate whether he is aware of the case where a Shettleston woman tendered a weekly payment of 2s. 6d. on 6th November, 1937, to Mr. Turkington, Debt Recovery Agent, Gallowgate, Glasgow; that he refused the payment at his office and threatened to sell off the woman's household effects and used violent language to this lady and put her in a state of collapse; whether he is further aware of a former case where a Tollcross lady fainted in Mr. Turkington's office in consequence of a similar attack; whether the procurator fiscal has, inquired into the debt cases of these women; and, seeing that Mr. Turkington is using illegal
