asked the Minister of Labour whether he will state the number of persons, men and women separately, who were registered as suitable and available for work in the catering industry as chefs, waiters and waitresses, counter hands, etc., during the months of June, July, and August of this year in Margate, Ramsgate, Southend, Brighton, Scarborough, Yarmouth, Weston-super-Mare, Bridlington, Skegness, Blackpool, and Hunstanton?

The information available shows only the total number of wholly unemployed men and women, aged 18 years and over, registered at Employment Exchanges as applicants for employment as resident servants, without distinction as to occupation, in hotels, boarding houses, etc., and as waiters or waitresses. The following table gives these figures for 7th June and 6th September, 1937, in respect of the under-mentioned Employment Exchanges:
