HC Deb 04 November 1937 vol 328 c1144W
Mr. Chater

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether his attention has been drawn to the exceptionally high price of English eggs; and whether he will take immediate action with a view to abolishing the import duties on poultry feeding-stuffs, in order to reduce costs of production and reduce prices to the consumer?

Captain Wallace

I understand that in recent weeks the wholesale price of English eggs has been slightly lower than in the same period last year. As regards the second part of the question, I would refer the hon. Member to the answer which was given to the hon. Member for Sedgefield (Mr. Leslie) on 18th February, of which I am sending him a copy.
