HC Deb 04 November 1937 vol 328 c1149W
Mr. Day

asked the Minister of Agriculture what further steps are being taken to make use of talking films for the purpose of instruction in agriculture?

Mr. W. S. Morrison

Twenty-one films on agricultural subjects are available for loan in my Department and during the past 12 months there have been 82 loans of such films, of which 66 have been sound films. In addition a number of sound films have been made for instructional purposes in agriculture by cinematograph companies working on their own account, and these are available for loan to agricultural institutions and other such bodies through the ordinary trade channels. The further development of sound films as a medium for agricultural instruction is receiving the careful consideration of my Department in consultation with the Board of Education
