HC Deb 04 November 1937 vol 328 c1134W
Mr. Lathan

asked the Minister of Health whether he is satisfied that the statutory amount allowed to approved societies for appropriation for the efficient administration of the National Insurance Acts is sufficient to enable them to pay their staffs salaries commensurate with the qualifications and special knowledge they must possess to administer these Acts with their intricacies and difficulties of interpretation?

Sir K. Wood

I have no reason to suppose that the statutory amount referred to is not sufficient and approved societies are generally carrying out their duties in a satisfactory manner within that amount.
