HC Deb 03 November 1937 vol 328 c930W
Mr. Mathers

asked the Minister of Transport whether he will make a statement regarding prospective development of trunk roads in Scotland generally and in the county of Linlithgow in particular?

Mr. Burgin

As I did not become the highway authority in Scotland until the 16th May of this year (rather less than six months ago) I feel it would be premature to attempt at this date to make the statement which the hon. Member suggests, but I have in immediate contemplation schemes in Scotland estimated to cost over one million pounds.
