HC Deb 03 November 1937 vol 328 c946W
Mr. White

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether, in view of public anxiety on the question of milk retail prices, he will ask the Consumers' Council to expedite their report on this matter; and will he publish their conclusions at the earliest possible date?

Mr. W. S. Morrison

I understand that a report by the Food Council to my right hon. Friend the President of the Board of Trade, on distributive costs and retail prices of milk, will shortly be published. As regards the recent increase in minimum retail prices, I have no doubt that the Consumers' Committee will consider this matter without avoidable delay. If the committee present a report to me on the subject it will be published in accordance with the usual practice.
