HC Deb 02 November 1937 vol 328 cc747-8W
Mr. Shinwell

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what action he intends to take on the representations he has received from sections of the cotton industry on the removal of quotas in Ceylon?

Mr. Ormsby-Gore

The President of the Board of Trade and I recently received a representative deputation from Lancashire, with whom the matter was discussed at length. I understand that the deputation were satisfied with the explanations given and no further action is proposed.
