asked the Secretary for Mines what are the latest figures for fatal and non-fatal accidents in the Nottinghamshire coalfields; and whether any additional inspectors have recently been appointed in this area?

During the first four months of 1937, in Nottinghamshire, 13 persons were killed and 42 seriously injured by accidents at the mines: the figures for the whole of 1936 were 34 killed and 150 seriously injured. No additional inspectors have been appointed to this area recently.
