HC Deb 04 May 1937 vol 323 c986W
Mr. C. S. Taylor

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he is aware that the British Sanitary Fireclay Association has issued communications to its members instructing them to send their forms of tender from Government Departments to them, so that the association office may fill in all tenders at the same price and return them to the Government Departments concerned; and whether he is taking any steps in this matter?

Mr. Runciman

I am aware of this practice, which the association claim is required by the complexity of the tenders. I have no evidence that Government Departments are being charged unreasonably high prices for these goods.
