HC Deb 04 May 1937 vol 323 c994W
Mr. L. Smith

asked the Secretary of State for Dominion Affairs whether he has yet received any reliable information showing that an early resumption of British immigration would be welcomed in the maritime provinces of Canada; and whether the Government is preparing to take action to stimulate it?

Mr. M. MacDonald

I have received no intimation from the Canadian Government that the resumption of assisted migration into the maritime provinces of Canada would be welcomed by them. The second part of the question does not therefore arise.
