HC Deb 17 March 1937 vol 321 cc2087-8W
Mr. Johnston

asked the Minister of Labour whether he is aware of the almost complete paralysis of the omnibus traffic in the areas of Scotland usually operated by the S.M.T. Company, the loss and inconvenience thereby occasioned to the public, and that the omnibus driver's wage, including payment for Sunday labour, is £3 3s. 11d. per week; whether he is endeavouring to bring into negotiation the two contending parties to the wages dispute; and whether he can make any statement on the subject?

Mr. E. Brown

I regret that there has been no change in the position which enables me to add anything to the statement made by me on Thursday last in reply to the hon. Member for East Fife (Mr. H. Stewart).
