HC Deb 17 March 1937 vol 321 c2096W
Mr. Kelly

asked the Under-Secretary of State for Air whether he is aware that increases of pay awarded to departmental clerks serving in his Department by the Industrial Court, on 12th October last, to which effect was to be given as from 1st October last, have still not been paid out; whether he can state the reason for this delay; and what steps he has taken to secure payment to the officers concerned without further delay?

Sir P. Sassoon

Consideration of various points affecting the detailed interpretation of the Industrial Court Award has been necessary before instructions regarding its application could be issued, but where increases in pay have already fallen due payment has now been authorised and has in many instances already been made. It is expected that all outstanding payments will have been effected by the end of this month.
