HC Deb 16 March 1937 vol 321 c1874W
Mr. Mander

asked the Secretary of State for Dominion Affairs whether any communications have been exchanged between the Dominions and this country concerning German propaganda broadcasts to the Dominions and mandated territories held by them; and to what extent the British Broadcasting Corporation is transmitting programmes regularly to the Dominions?

Mr. M. MacDonald

The reply to the first part of the question is in the negative. As regards the second part, I am informed by the British Broadcasting Corporation that of the six daily broadcasts to the Empire one is timed especially to suit Australia and New Zealand, one to suit Africa, including the Union of South Africa, and one each to suit Eastern and Western Canada respectively.
