Mr. N. Maclean

asked the Secretary of State for War (1) whether he can state when the firm of Waring and Gillow reopened their factory for making tent covers; where the factory is situated; and whether this firm's workshop is situated in a depressed area;

(2) whether he can state where the factory of Messrs. Maple and Company, Limited, manufacturers of tent covers, is situated; when the factory was started; and whether it is in a depressed area?

Waring and Gillow's factory far making tent covers is situated at Cambridge Road, London, W.6. It was opened before the War, and has been open ever since. Maple and Company's factory is situated in Tottenham Court Road, London, W.1, where they started tent making in 1914. Neither factory is situated in a depressed area.
