HC Deb 03 March 1937 vol 321 c371W
Mr. Lyons

asked the Minister of Transport whether he will follow his practice in regard to compulsory safety equipment for motor-cars by fixing a date after which no grants will be made in respect of road surfaces other than those which have been favourably reported upon by the Ministry after tests for resistance to skidding?

Mr. Hore-Belisha

It is already my practice to make grants in respect of road surfacing only when, in the opinion of my technical officers, the materials to be used afford satisfactory resistance to skidding.
