§ Mr. R. Beaumontasked the First Lord of the Admiralty what amount of leave is granted to artificer apprentices trained at the Mechanical Trading Establishment at Chatham; and whether any, and, if so, how many, week-end periods of leave are allowed in addition to the usual periods?
Mr. CooperArtificer apprentices are granted a fortnight's leave at Christmas, a fortnight's leave at Easter and three weeks' leave in the summer. Apprentices whose homes are in or close to Chatham and those who receive invitations from local friends may be granted week-end leave once a fortnight. Other apprentices are granted week-end leave for half-term on two occasions during the year.
