§ Mr. Bullasked the Minister of Transport (1) whether he is aware that the Cambridge arterial road, which is a single-track road of 27 feet width, is inadequate to carry the amount of traffic which uses it; and whether any proposal has been put to his Department for the widening of the road;
(2) whether it is proposed to convert the Cambridge arterial road from a single- 1773W track road to a double-track road; and, if so, whether he can give any indication as to when this work will be undertaken?
§ Mr. BurginProposals to construct dual carriageways on this road are now under consideration and I hope that work will be started this year.

§ Mr. BurginDuring the five years ended 31st May, 1937, there were 42 fatal accidents on the Cambridge arterial road.
