HC Deb 07 June 1937 vol 324 c1426W
Colonel Wedgwood

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether there have been any negotiations with the United States of America concerning a common policy in connection with the purchase of gold?

Lieut.-Colonel Colville

There has been, no occasion for such negotiations. The arrangements under the Tripartite Monetary Agreement, in regard to which there is close contact between the two Treasuries, are working to the full satisfaction of the Governments concerned.
