HC Deb 04 June 1937 vol 324 c1312W
Mr. E. J. Williams

asked the Minister of Labour whether he will state the number of persons in receipt of unemployment benefit and unemployment assistance allowance, separately, at the Maesteg, Pontycymmer, Ogmore Vale, Aberkenfig, and Bridgend exchanges, respectively, for the years 1931 to date?

Mr. E. Brown

The following table shows the numbers of payments of insurance benefit and transitional payments or unemployment allowances made direct through the undermentioned Employment Exchanges during one week of each year from 1931 to 1937.

Mr. Cooper

Yes, Sir. I have recently received information to the effect that a considerable number of mines are scattered in Almeria Bay and that minefields exist off Cape de Gata which extend a considerable distance to the southward.
