§ Mr. BurginA portable "Stop: Children Crossing" sign has been authorised, and by its use many school3120W authorities are implementing the recommendations of the Committees on Road Safety among School Children. The attention of local authorities generally has been drawn to the valuable recommendations made by those committees as to safeguarding children at road crossings and for their instruction in road safety. In a few cases subways or bridges have been provided, or are being provided; and I am glad to have this opportunity of assuring all concerned that I shall continue to give sympathetic consideration to applications from highway authorities for grants towards such works in appropriate cases.
