HC Deb 26 July 1937 vol 326 c2684W
Mr. Parker

asked the Minister of Transport (1) whether official statistics are now published of the total output of electricity from private plants; and, if not, whether action is being taken to obtain and issue such statistics so that comparisons may be made with the total statistics published by many other countries;

(2) what is the present total output and consumption of electricity per head of population in Great Britain, including both electricity produced by authorised undertakings and by private plants?

Mr. Burgin

I am not aware of any statistics which would provide the whole of the information asked for. Much of the ground, however, is covered by the Returns of Engineering and Financial Statistics relating to authorised undertakings in Great Britain published by the Electricity Commissioners, and the Census of Production Statistics issued by the Board of Trade.
