Mr. T. Morrisasked the right hon. Member for Rye, as representing the Forestry Commissioners whether it is proposed to build up a reserve of large timber against any national emergency; and, if so, what steps are being taken to extend this policy to Wales?
§ Sir G. CourthopeThe Commissioners are proposing to build up reserves of large timber in certain places where they already have middle-aged timber. Practically the whole of their plantations in Wales have been planted since 1919.
