Mr. David Adamsasked the President of the Board of Trade whether, in view of the severe shortage of roofing slates produced in this country which is hampering the Government's housing programme, he will now take steps to secure the removal of the duty upon imported roofing slates?
§ Captain WallaceI have no information to the effect that the housing programme is being hampered by a shortage of roofing slates. Any question of the removal of the duty from imported roofing slates is a matter, in the first instance, for the consideration of the Import Duties Advisory Committee.
