§ Mr. Thurtleasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether conditions in the Rhodesian copper belt are now quiet, and whether any restrictions are in operation 2000W against the activities of the religious sect known as Jehovah's Witnesses?
§ Mr. Ormsby-GoreI have received no reports recently to suggest that conditions in the copper belt are other than quiet. As regards the second part of the question, the only restriction in force is that the importation of any literature of the Watch Tower Society is prohibited if in any instance the Government of Northern Rhodesia considers such literature to be definitely subversive.
