HC Deb 07 July 1937 vol 326 c362W
Mr. Lyons

asked the Under-Secretary of State for Air whether at any, and which, airports wireless facilities have been reduced or withdrawn, and established or improved, respectively, since the publication of the Maybury Report?

Lieut.-Colonel Muirhead

The only withdrawal has been at Gatwick, which has ceased to be the base of a regular air service, and the only reduction at Kirkwall, where a change in the air services has made it possible to terminate the hours of watch a little earlier. As against this, the hours of watch have been extended at twelve existing wireless stations, and new stations are being opened to-morrow in the Isle of Man and in Manchester.
