SimonThe responsibility for maintaining order in Nottinghamshire rests on the chief constable, and he informs me that he has found it necessary to move certain of his force to Harworth from other parts of the county, but he has not had to borrow men from any other force. No previous consultation with my Department is called for in such circumstances, but they have of course been kept informed of the measures taken.
