§ Mr. Banfieldasked the Minister of Transport whether he is aware of the great dissatisfaction of local authorities in Staffordshire and the Midlands by reason of the recent appointment by his Department of a traffic commissioner and deputy traffic commissioner; and whether, in view of the fact that the operation of Section 63 of the Road Traffic Act, 1930, involves a considerable amount of work for the authorities concerned and provides in the result no indication of the wishes of the various authorities or of public opinion, he will consider whether more consideration can be given to nominees of local authorities who receive widespread support?
