SimonNo, Sir; I am not aware that any complaint of this nature has been made in respect of the methods adopted by the Metropolitan police, who have explicit instructions that officers engaged in timing vehicles passing through speed controls shall stand exactly at the points where the measured distance begins and ends. I understand that the Highgate cases referred to were cases of exceeding the speed limit in Finsbury Park where the officials who enforce the speed limit are not the police.
