HC Deb 24 February 1937 vol 320 c2017W
Mr. Lambert

asked the Postmaster-General when it is proposed that telephonic communication between London and Malaya will be completed?

Sir W. Womersley

The introduction of public telephone service with Malaya will be arranged as soon as satisfactory communication has been established. Arrangements to that end are well advanced but I regret that a definite date for opening the service cannot yet be furnished.
