Mr. Kelly

asked the President of the Board of Trade what was the number of women employed as junior clerks in the bankruptcy and companies, ex-headquarters, service of the Board of Trade as at 1st April, 1936; and how many of those employed on this date fell within each of the following age groups: under 21 years of age; 21 to 25 years; 26 to 30 years; 31 to 35 years; 36 to 40 years; 41 to 45 years; 46 to 50 years; over 50 years?

Seventeen women were employed as junior clerks in the Bankruptcy and Companies (Ex-Headquarters) Service of the Board of Trade on the 1st April, 1936, and their age grouping on that date was as follows:

Under 21 years of age 3
21 to 25 years 1
26 to 30 years 1
31 to 35 years 7
36 to 40 years 4
41 to 45 years
46 to 50 years
Over 50 years of age 1
Total 17
