HC Deb 22 February 1937 vol 320 c1665W
Mr. Hopkin

asked the Minister of Transport if his attention has been called to the widespread dissatisfaction expressed by a number of public representatives of all parties in South Wales regarding the delay in proceeding with the erection of a bridge over the River Severn; and will he now state the Government's intentions on this matter?

Mr. Hore-Belisha

The hon. Gentleman will be aware that a Select Committee of the House of Commons recently rejected this proposal, to which the Government offered a 75 per cent. grant. He will also be aware of the answer which I gave on the 5th November last.
