§ Mr. RuncimanThe question whether particular goods now imported from abroad can or should be produced in this country must be decided in each case by reference to all the technical and other circumstances. It is a matter primarily for manufacturing interests, and I do not think that a general inquiry, such as is suggested, would be practicable. If my hon. Friend has any special instance in mind, I shall be glad to furnish her with such information about it as is available in my Department.
