Brigadier-General Brownasked the Minister of Health whether he is aware that imported liquid-egg juice is used in cakes, buns, etc.; and whether any of 1386W the tins that come into this country are opened and subjected to any medical analysis?
§ Sir K. WoodI am aware that imported liquid eggs are used by bakers and confectioners. In common with other imported articles of food they are subject to examination at the port of entry, and such examinations are, I understand, made from time to time. A number of special bacteriological examinations of liquid eggs have also been made by my Department.
